Archer Assess/Intake Psych House Supervisor

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • The Psych House Supervisor organizes patient care and general unit activities to accomplish required functions with delegation of these activities to other staff as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the develops annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.
  • Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels. Allocates resources according to priorities.
  • Generates creative solutions & attention to detail.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Develops alternative solutions.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates persistence and follow through even when faced with adversity or challenges.
  • Ensures that staff complies with mandatory education, license requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc.
  • Sets clear performance expectations and holds people accountable.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Prefer 2-4 Years Experience in working with mentally ill &/or addictions; Prefer 1- 2 Years Experience in Healthcare leadership setting.
  • Nursing License as a registered nurse in Louisiana or multi-state compact license.
  • Crisis Response Training, CPR
  • Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
  • Requires emotional stability and resilience.
  • Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
  • Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
  • Shows ability to gain and maintain support and respect.

 Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time. 
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergent situations.
  •  May be required to assist in controlling disorderly conduct or combative patients.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
