Psych RN House Supervisor (Full Time)

Department:	Archer Institute - Psychiatric Services
Location:	Lake Charles, LA

Archer Assess/Intake Psych House Supervisor

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The Psych House Supervisor organizes patient care and general unit activities to accomplish required functions with delegation of these activities to other staff as appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives.
Assists in the develops annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.
Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels. Allocates resources according to priorities.
Generates creative solutions & attention to detail.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
Develops alternative solutions.
Balances team and individual responsibilities.
Demonstrates persistence and follow through even when faced with adversity or challenges.
Ensures that staff complies with mandatory education, license requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc.
Sets clear performance expectations and holds people accountable.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Prefer 2-4 Years Experience in working with mentally ill &/or addictions; Prefer 1- 2 Years Experience in Healthcare leadership setting.
Nursing License as a registered nurse in Louisiana or multi-state compact license.
Crisis Response Training, CPR
Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
Requires emotional stability and resilience.
Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
Shows ability to gain and maintain support and respect.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time.
Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergent situations.
May be required to assist in controlling disorderly conduct or combative patients.
Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
