Information Systems Network Administrator I

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • The Network Administrator assists in the design and development of its enterprise architecture. This position is a unique opportunity to apply skills and experience in networking to optimize patient care for a rapidly growing community hospital. The Network Administrator is expected to be generally experienced with the entire OSI model, with an advanced level of understanding of layers 2 and 3, and be able to assist with wireless and voice networks. The position is focused on developing network infrastructure for the enterprise while demonstrating ownership, enthusiasm, and passion when assisting our physicians, nurses, and staff deliver an excellent patient experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for Core and remote Cisco networks
  • Have a Basic understanding of WAN technologies
  • Maintain Voice and data lines provide by carriers
  • Monitor Internal company VOIP system
  • Manage the Internal and external monitoring systems
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of data and voice equipment to ensure compliance with established IT standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
  • Monitor incident, change and problem SLA metrics
  • Maintain communication closet cleanliness and standards
  • Perform monthly checks and maintenance on UPS systems across multiple locations
  • Assist in wireless troubleshooting and deployments
  • Assist in VOIP networks and telephony deployments.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Computer Science/Technology or 2 years’ experience in managing networks with demonstrated experience in maintaining a Cisco based LAN, WAN, and Wireless network with high availability in a secure data center environment
  • Understanding of IGRP routing protocols required
  • Network+ preferred
  • Clear understanding of copper and fiber cabling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical groups
  • Professional with a customer service attitude
  • Security, collaboration, and cloud certifications a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Capable of performing light to medium duty physical tasks.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • The work environment may be physically confining.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
