HRIS Specialist (Full Time)

Department: Human Resources
Location: Lake Charles, LA

Description of Position

The Specialist will oversee the development and day-to-day support of data entry, compliance, and accuracy within our HRIS system while being responsible for a variety of tasks such as entering employee information from the time of hire and maintaining all changes included in Personnel Action Forms.

Keeps integrity and accuracy of the database, fixing data when necessary. The specialist is knowledgeable about databases and HR software such as applicant tracking systems and compensation platforms

Supervision: Reports directly to Chief Human Resources Officer of Human Resources

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Creates, modifies, and enhances databases by importing and exporting data, running reports and updating data tables, and creating queries.
  • Manages Position Control Master List to support system integrity and historical accuracy.
  • Processes Personnel Action Forms (PAF'S) entering new hire information, status changes, transfers, promotions/demotions, salary adjustments, terminations, and any other changes to employee maintenance. Monitors PAFs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigates and diagnose root cause analyses, such as error reports or application problems for data issues.
  • Provides technical support, and troubleshooting to HRIS users.
  • Maintain People Analytics metrics for a Human Resource Scorecard and other key data points.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and compliance with data privacy guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • Associate of Science in Business Office or equivalent years of applicable experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resource data analysis, entry, and reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft skills including Word and Excel. Demonstrated expertise with report writing software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with demanding time frames. Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills. Well organized, detail-oriented, and confident to work independently, but a strong team player. Self-directed, adaptable to change, and able to lead a team or project.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Work is primarily sedentary in an office setting located off-site. Office hours are Monday through Friday during the day. May be required to work off shifts as needed, on weekends, or on holidays based on projects.
