Decision Support Analyst (Full Time)

Department: Revenue Management
Location: Lake Charles, LA

This role requires in-person attendance as it is strictly an onsite position. Candidates must be able to commute to our Lake Charles office.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • The Revenue Management Decision Support Analyst assists in the development, validation, maintenance and integrity of the system databases and interfaces for HPM/HBI systems. They also provide support to all levels of management, hospital personnel, performance improvement teams, physicians, and outside vendors. Lastly, they develop, validate and explain financial and clinical data supporting performance indicators such as cost, revenue, clinical performance, and comparative information needed on physician, product line, health plans, employers, demographics and hospital statistics.

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Director of Revenue Management

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Proficient in development, validation, and maintenance of both the HPM & HBI systems.
  • Ability to support all levels of personnel in decision support needs.
  • Ability to accurately interpret report results and effectively communicate results.
  • Ability to analyze business/user needs with the ability to troubleshoot data/process flow.
  • Proactively suggest improvements in process and systems.
  • Effectively documents processes by developing policies and procedures as it relates to data mining.
  • Identifies enhancements to existing technology and corresponding workflow to improve productivity, performance, and quality.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple projects with innovation, creativity, and vision.
  • Manages and priorities multiple projects simultaneously and adapts to rapid change.
  • Use a consistent defined format to document rules and requirements.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent - with continued education in data mining.
  • Two years experience in business analysis in healthcare operations and strong IT background.
  • Exceptional skills and demonstrated capabilities in analytical tools such as Excel and Access. Data mining experience is a plus
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills; Ability to communicate orally and in written form.
  • Ability to utilize and understand computer technology.
  • Must be team oriented with strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work requires light duty lifting.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
