Nursing Assistant - Full Time - Nights

Department: Physical Rehab - Routine
Location: Lake Charles, LA

Role Competencies

  • 1 NURSING ASSISTANT : 1- Provides physical care in safe manner under direction of licensed nurse, 2- communicates abnormal variances to appropriate staff, 3- collects information regarding patient condition (vital signs, I&Os, food intake), 4- performs and assists patient’s with ADLSs, 5- demonstrates competency in use of computers for patient charting and related functions, 6- adheres to infection control policies
  • 2 NURSING ASSISTANT : Attendance Policy- Adheres to hospital/department attendance policies. IF rated Needs Improvement, please enter the number of occurrences in comments below.
  • 3 NURSING ASSISTANT : Competencies and Education- Completion of all competencies and education- Review HealthStream transcript. Employee completes mandatory annual education requirements AND attends mandatory in-services and pertinent seminars.   • 4 NURSING ASSISTANT : Dress Code and Personal Appearance- Complies with hospital wide and departmental policies regarding dress code and personal appearance
  • 5 NURSING ASSISTANT : Hospital Wide Basic Requirements include: 1- Demonstrated an awareness and implementation of Nursing Quality Initiatives, as applicable in the area of practice. 2- Knows, understands and adheres to hospital/departments policies including safety, confidentiality/HIPAA, infection control and cultural diversity 3- Effectively communicates
  • 6 NURSING ASSISTANT : QUALITY MANAGEMENT: 1- Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in implementation of the Unit Performance Improvement plan, 2- Demonstrates the following best practices: in a consistent and positive manner: Huddles, Hourly Rounding, Service Excellence Principles, use of white boards, and competency in unit based procedures. 3- Makes suggestions/recommendations for improved operations, 4- Understands and appropriately responds to the unique combination of cultural variables that professionals and individuals bring to interactions
  • 7 NURSING ASSISTANT: Service Excellence- Professionalism - Professionalism: Demonstrates Professionalism and Excellence by: 1- Demonstrate the concepts of service excellence beyond departmental and individual responsibility (examples: handles dietary concerns like warming food; assists visitors or families with requests). 2- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and communication skills. Practice the three I's: Integrity- Doing the right thing for the right reason; Intensity: job is important/good attitude; Intelligence- Right tools for the job. 3- Separates personal or private issues from work. 4- Demonstrates personal accountability, is a positive role model. Owns the request and doesn't shift the blame to others.
  • 8 NURSING ASSISTANT- : Service Excellence: Customer Service-Treat Everyone as a Guest - Customer Service-Treat Everyone as a Guest by: 1- Makes a positive first impression an continues that positive impression through on-going efforts. 2- Identifies self, makes eye contact, smiles, uses common courtesy. 3- Anticipates the needs and expectations of all customer groups. Explains procedures and who will be involved in providing service. Ends all communication with "Is there anything else I can do for you?" 4- Displays service recovery skills. Accepts responsibility for resolving customer dissatisfaction without assigning blame. Practices service recovery skills such as apologizing, active listening, communicating positively, focusing on the customer, showing empathy, allowing customers to vent, remaining calm and professional and following-up to ensure resolution
