Facilities Manager

Department: Facilities Management
Location: Lake Charles, LA

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • The Facilities Manager must be capable of independent operation, in-service training and supervision of other employees. The Facility manager should be knowledgeable in all aspects of the operation and details of the departments and administrations goals and expectations.

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Facilities Director

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Coordinates and assigns preventive maintenance assignments.
  • Identifies deficiencies found during PM and arranges for the rectification of the deficiency.
  • Coordinates corrective maintenance with users and maintenance personnel.
  • Assigns corrective work requests, based on information from daily logs and job requests and follow-ups.
  • Gets approval and then orders repair parts and/or service as needed and follows up on outstanding repairs.
  • Is knowledgeable of the capabilities of those who serve under him.
  • Assures proper use and care of tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot problems, make repairs and select proper tools for job.
  • Is able to understand and perform chemical tests and document results; Plant and Water features.
  • Ability to read and understand sketches, blue prints, weights measures, equipment operational and service manuals.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years trade experience or a minimum of five to ten years of general maintenance experience.
  • Must maintain a basic compliment of tools as prescribed by department policy; Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
  • Be willing to train for more advanced duties or skills.
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively and interpret blue prints, diagrams and statistical data.
  • Requires emotional stability and resilience. Must be adaptable to change, be decisive and demonstrate foresight.
  • Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and have no color loss in eyes.
  • Must be able to utilize intricate hand tools and testing devices and work with system components.
  • May be required to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and stairs, push or pull varying weights.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and have full range of motion in all extremities, good perception and field of vision.
  • May occasionally work in semi-clean environments.
  • Ability to do shift work as required.
